2017-2018 Examples
- CDS continues to teach individuals how to become benefits advisers or how to understand their benefits under the Social Security Act.
- The CDS Media Center continues to teach and advise campus units and private sector clients on how to make and maintain websites and online courses in an accessible form for the full range of individuals with disabilities. It is working on creating a Center for Accessible Technology and to seek funding from the legislature.
- CDS continues to offer a certificate in Disability Studies that is attractive to people with diverse majors, such as business, health, and hospitality. After training, they are better equipped to interact with and serve people with disabilities. And, CDS is exploring with the Dean of the College of Education, the conversion of this certificate program into a Master’s Degree in Disability Studies.
- All projects that involve students include professional development for teachers and administrators associated with CDS projects.
