Community Technology Centers (CTC)

  • “Within walking distance” of nearly all Kalihi residents, CTC’s support major low-income ethnic groups: Filipino, Samoan, and Native Hawaiian. 40% speak English as a second language.
  • Existing computer labs in six community agencies have computers and other technology of variable quality, available during limited hours.
  • Upgraded equipment and software, improved internet access, (re)trained personnel, and ensured accessibility, and have also brought in expertise and resources such as Americorps volunteers and college interns.
  • High proportions of children are at-risk, have special needs and/or English as a second language.
