What is Running Start?
Running Start is a University of Hawaii and Hawaii Department of Education initiative that allows “eligible students” at any public high school or charter school in Hawaii (under the age of 21) to earn college credit and high school credit simultaneously for the same course.
Benefits to the student:
- In addition to earning high school credit for a qualified class, students will also earn college credits. Your high school counselor will know which college courses qualify for both high school and college credits.
- Running Start courses numbered 100 and above are transferrable within the UH system.
