Program Goals:
- Increase High School Students Career Opportunities
- Create Opportunities in the Private
Sectors - Allow students to participate in work based learning experience
Program Purpose:
- Placing high school students in internship/entry level positions during the summer time to developed work experience that allows them to continue training for the same job industry after high school
- Allowing high school students to have the opportunity after graduation to earn and potentially have an entry level employment and at the same time meet the needs to train skilled workers in the CNMI
- Aims to build local workforce capacity within our Islands, one student st a time
About the Internship
The purpose of this program is to place high school students in internship/entry level positions during the summer with expectation that they will continue training for the same jobs after high school graduation and potentially earning entry level employment and at the same time meet the needs to train skilled workers in the CNMI. The goal is to increase high school students’ awareness of career opportunities in the private sector through opportunities to participate in work-based learning experiences. This program is a summer program that usually lasts about five weeks – approximately 66 hours.
