Teen ACE Outcomes

  • Farrington Complex, 4 community-based programs (including Ohana Komputer, PACT/KPT, Palama Settlement Community Center, Susannah Wesley Community Center); and the University of Hawai‘i Center on Disability studies collaborate.
  • 200 at-risk teens (disabilities and ESL) participated and showed grade level improvements after the 8-week
    intervention.
  • Reading, writing, problem solving, and communication have been infused in Teen ACE.
  • ACE Reading has been implemented at four sites, supporting over 100 students.
  • Twenty community adults and teachers have been trained as tutors-as have dozens of high school students, as part of their entrepreneurship program. Some of these students then contract with elementary schools to provide their services.
