Leeward Community Learning Centers (CLCs): Outcomes

  • 4,200 students served.
  • 127 activities have been offered before, during, and after school.
  • 239 community adults participated, not including walk-in parents and other volunteers.
  • 10 collaborating agencies worked directly or indirectly with the schools, providing after and before school activities and in-kind contributions to the programs.
  • Participation included at least 440 special education students, 200 children with “limited English proficiency,” and
  • 2,000 students were eligible for free or reduced-cost lunch.
  • Participating students significantly improved their school attendance and academic achievement.
