Ka Pilina No‘eau will partner with elementary and middle schools in Hawai‘i to improve mathematics and science outcomes of Native Hawaiian Kindergarten through 8th grade students by providing after-school student programs and parent workshop interventions where participants engage in hands-on and Native Hawaiian cultural STEM lessons and activities.
Ka Pilina No‘eau is built upon two projects: the Ka Pilina Project and Project TEAMS. Both of these projects have been proven to improve math and science outcomes of middle and high school students through hands-on, online, and mentoring activities that emphasized STEM in cultural activities and in the real world.
Ka Pilina Project
Ka Pilina: AIM Together was a 3-year project funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Native Hawaiian Education Program, to improve mathematics outcomes of 7-12th grade students (Award # S362A120030).
