Employer Training

The Pacific Inclusive Education Research and Resources (PIER), a center within the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa’s Center on Disability Studies, is dedicated to building an inclusive society where every individual is empowered to reach their full potential. Among its various impactful initiatives, Project CLD TEAMS (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse and Twice-Exceptional Students Achieving and Matriculating in STEM fields) offers a unique training opportunity for employers in collaboration with Disability:IN Hawaii Chapter. This training program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools to foster disability inclusion in your workplace, creating a more equitable environment for all employees.

Why Participate?
This four-month training provides a collaborative learning experience in which participants will explore key strategies for implementing disability inclusion. Each cohort will progress through a series of modules together, with two training sessions per month covering the same material so employers have the flexibility to attend one of the two sessions that best fits their schedule.

Exclusive Benefits of Training
Upon completing the training, your organization will be eligible for recognition as a “Best Workplace for Disability Inclusion,” awarded by the Hawaiʻi University Centers on Excellence on Developmental Disabilities and Disability:IN. This certification not only showcases your commitment to inclusion but also strengthens your reputation in both local and national disability employment networks. Additionally, we provide ongoing coaching, support, and connections to resources that will help your organization continue to grow its inclusive practices and stay engaged with both local and national disability inclusion communities.

Join us to become a leader in disability inclusion, create a more inclusive workplace culture, and make a positive, lasting impact on your team and community!
