Ready to schedule an appointment? 

Visit the State of Hawai‘i COVID-19 Vaccination Locations (look for the purple tab labeled COVID-19 Vaccination for Ages 5-11). Parents can also contact their child’s school directly to see if and when their school will be offering vaccinations to students. Please note that all keiki vaccinations will require a parent/guardian’s consent.

COVID-19 vaccinations protect their health, and will allow keiki to safely participate in activities which are important to their development, such as school and sports. For more information, watch the COVID-19 Vaccinations for keiki ages 5- 11 Webinar from the Hawai’i Public Health Training Hui. They provide research and key takeaways on the benefits of the COVID-19 vaccination for keiki. 

At-Home Learning

The ‘Ohana Tips for Parents: Ways to Support At-Home Learning is a brief guide to tips and resources to help you and your child be ready to learn at home. As a result of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus), student learning has shifted from in-classroom to at-home learning. Families, use the resources on this page to help you and your child be ready to learn at home. Teachers, please share it with your students and their families.

COVID-19 Toolkits: 

These are great resources for schools and community-based-organizations to print and provide to their student families.

  • K-12 Schools: Guidance and tools to help school administrators make decisions, protect their students and staff, and communicate with their communities. Includes posters, fact sheets, social media posts, videos, and PSAs to use at your school.
  • Parents (of children ages 5-24): Ensuring Children and Young People’s Social, Emotional, and Mental Well-being. Resources are organized by age groups. Includes ready-to-print postcard reminders, door hangers, activities, and conversation starters to support your child.
  • People with Disabilities: Guidance and tools to help people with disabilities and those who serve or care for them make decisions, protect their health, and communicate with their communities. Includes household checklists, posters, fact sheets, social media posts, videos, and PSAs.

Your school may offer virtual learning or have new policies and practices in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during in-person learning.   • Calm: An app that has free content including guided meditations, music, and stories, to support your mental and emotional wellness through this time. 
  • Down Dog Yoga: Access to daily streams, live streams and on demand classes
  • Headspace: An app to help support you through this time of crisis, they offer meditations you can listen to anytime.

Resources for Families

  • First Aid for Feelings: A workbook to help children cope during the coronavirus pandemic. This 16-page downloadable workbook is full of activities and tools to help children learn to cope with everyday challenges.
  • Yale Child Study Center and Scholastic: Family Help Desk provides free resources to support families and educators. Email your specific questions about coping with the current crisis and expert clinicians and educators will respond within 2 business days.’
  • Back to School Planning & Preparing Checklist for COVID-19, prepared by the CDC. This includes identifying a school contact if your child gets sick, actions to take, points to consider, and promote the use of cloth face covering.

  • ABA Parent Training Plan: Relias Academy is providing free courses due to the circumstances caused by Coronavirus (COVID-19). This course package educates parents on providing Applied Behavior Analysis for their child at home.

  • School Virtually provides information, lessons, step by step planning, and more for educators and parents to support all learners including students with disabilities as schools have made a quick switch to distance and online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
