Mission
To promote, support and enhance the independence, productivity, integration, and inclusion of individuals with disabilities and their families in the community. Guided by these values, the CNMI UCEDD services the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the region, and the nation.
History
The CNMI UCEDD is part of the Pacific Basin University Centers for Excellence (PBUCE) which consists of two sites: American Samoa (AS) and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). Each site is charged with carrying out the four core functions identified by the Administration on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AIDD).
Purpose
The CNMI UCEDD Program is committed to the development of culturally complementary outcomes while promoting equal opportunity, independence, productivity, promoting self-determination, and supporting an improved quality of life for people with developmental disabilities in their villages, the Commonwealth, and the world around us.
