Welcome to the UniDescription Academy! This online course will prepare you to write effective audio description for creating new and accessible digital content for users now and in the future. The six lessons shown below will give you more information about audio description, the 4C audio description process, how to describe different types of images including photos and illustrations, infographics, and maps, as well as writing style conventions and additional useful resources. Start with Lesson 1: Introduction to Audio Description then proceed to the other 5. Expect to take about an hour to finish all six. Once you have completed all the lessons, then proceed to print out your Certificate of Completion showing your accomplishment in audio describing NPS brochures and future accessible content applications for making the National Park Service a fully accessible place for including people with disabilities.
