About

Halau Ku Mana Charter School (HKM) needs curriculum development support to document interdisciplinary, project/place-based learning and align with HKM and HIDoE standards.

Creating Futures will oversee management of contract: review curricula; visit classrooms to evaluate teacher implementation or curricula; manage production and distribution of products. Creating Futures will also support standardized testing system, identify staff to train and implement system, monitor integrity of standardized assessment system. 

HKM serves about 100 students, grade 6-12, from Leeward, Central, Windward and Honolulu districts. 80%+ are classified special education. 

Kaikaina I, Kaikaina II and Lo’i curricula will be documented and packaged for use by HKM and other Native Hawaiian Charter Schools as appropriate. HKM staff will receive professional development training so they can continue to document curricula consistent with HKM goals and objectives and Hawaii DOE standards.
