Dr. Yumiko Momose

Dr. Momose is a clinical psychologist at Tokoha University, Japan who will visit and make a presentation on her research area in sport psychology. She will share her current work in the area of blind soccer research and hopes to engage other interested researchers in her work.

Dr. Michelle Henault Morrone

Dr. Michelle Henault Morrone

Dr. Morrone is a Nagoya University of Arts and Sciences professor of comparative education and Dovetail Institute coordinator. This presentation will discuss early childhood initiatives taking place in Hawaiʻi and explore opportunities for cross collaboration with Dovetail Institute, an organization that provides PD for pre-service teachers and university instructors. Highlights from the recent visit to local preschools in Hilo, Hawaiʻi by five students and five university professors from Dovetail Institute will be shared. There will also be hands-on learning and observation of programs such as SDG-oriented programs, special education programs, and multicultural and diversity programs.

Dr. Jun Yaeda

Dr. Yaeda is a professor in the Human Sciences Master’s and Doctoral Program in the Rehabilitation Sciences Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, University of Tsukuba. He will visit along with his colleague, Professor Aida, occupational therapist and the Dean of the Graduate School of Rehab Science at Mejiro University in Tokyo, to learn more about CDS’s employment first initiatives.

Disability Research Panel Discussion

The Center on Disability Studies will host a Panel Discussion focused on early childhood policy and practices impacting children with disabilities to identify and address gaps and disparities. This will be held as a hybrid/zoom event. More details on how to participate are forthcoming.
