The authors of Pono Choices want to let the public know that the curriculum is not dead. In fact, the DOE review panel made a few recommendations for changes which are projected to be completed by the end of July. The Pono Choices project is still moving forward with statewide trainings, and we anticipate the curriculum will be reviewed by the DOE and ready for implementation by the beginning of August.
Once reviewed by the DOE Pono Choices will be back in full use by schools and teachers that choose to use it. We would like to thank all of you who understand the importance of teen sexual health education and the majority who are supportive of Pono Choices.
